Enable Account Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

Difficulty Level: Easy to Medium

Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is a time based token used as a second form of verification when logging into your account. To use 2FA, you will need to have an authenticator app installed on your smartphone and you will need to take a couple of minutes to set it up.


Download an Authenticator App from either Android Play or Apple App Store

Here are a few suggested apps:

Microsoft Authenticator - iOS App - Android App

DUO - iOS App - Android App

Twilio Authy - iOS App - Android App

LastPass Authenticator - iOS App - Android App


Client Area Configuration

Login to the Evolve Hosting Portal at https://core.evolvewebhost.com/login

  1. Locate your name toward the right corner of the screen (Hello, your name!) and click or tap on Security Settings from the dropdown menu.

  1. Click on Enable and open the Authentication App on your smartphone.

  1. Using your Authenticator App, add a new account and use your phone’s camera to scan the QR Code on your computer screen.

  1. VERY IMPORTANT: Securely save the backup code provided to you on screen. This is how you recover access to your account if your phone is lost or stolen.

Disable Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

To get started, visit the same Security Settings page where you initially setup 2FA.

After you click Disable, you’ll be prompted to enter your account password.

After you have entered your password, you’ll see the confirmation shown below and 2FA has been disabled for your account.
