cPanel Email Accounts

Create a new email account

If you’re wanting to create a new email account, follow these steps.

  1. Login to cPanel

  2. Scroll down the screen until you find the Email section and click on Email Accounts

  3. Click the blue button towards the center right area of your screen that says +Create

  4. Enter the email name you want and choose the correct domain if you have Add on Domains added to your account

  5. Choose a strong password and we recommend using the password generator and writing the password down or storing it in a secure place

  6. Choose a quota for this email account. You can either limit the account to 250MB(0.25GB) or set it to unlimited. Please note that Unlimited does not mean that you can store as many emails and attachments as you’d like. This simply means that if you have a hosting plan with 5GB of storage (You can see your total allocated storage within the left column of cPanel under the label Disk Space Usage), you could store up to 5GB worth of email if you don’t have website files or databases also counting toward your 5GB limit

  7. Click on Create Account and your email address is now setup

  8. In order to access your email, you may use webmail from any browser by going to yourdomain.com/webmail or by configuring an email client

Change a password for an existing email account

Difficulty Level: Easy

To begin updating your email password, you will need to have access to your cPanel account.

Once you are logged in, locate the Email section

Now, click the Email Accounts Link where you will be taken to this screen:

Choose the account that you want to update the password for and click the Manage button off to the right for that account. You will now see this screen:

Enter your desired password in the New Password field. We suggest using a strong and unique password (a mix of upper case, lower case, numbers and symbols) to prevent compromise of your account. Using the password generator is always a great idea.

Once you have entered a new password, scroll down and near the bottom of the page, you will find a blue button that says Update Email Settings. Click this button and you are finished.

Do not forget to update any email clients that you use with the new password (Desktop, Laptop, Tablet and/or Smartphone).

You can make other changes shown on this screen though none of them are required to update your password.
