How the Domain Transfer Process Works
The first step to initiating a domain transfer is to place an order for your transfer. You may do so at any time by choosing one of the TLDs (.com, .org, etc) from above and clicking 'Transfer'. Once the order has been completed, you will receive an email from us with the next steps which are also outlined below.
After you finish placing your order with us to transfer your domain, 4 things need to be taken care of through your current domain registrar. These steps are: Unlock your domain, Update your email address ONLY in the Whois information, Get your EPP (transfer) code and Remove Privacy Protection (if it is enabled)
The process does vary a little bit through each registrar and we have put together helpful guides to get you through the process: Domain Transfer Guides
Open a Support Ticket to let us know that the above steps have been completed
Keep an eye out in your inbox for an email to accept the transfer and enter your EPP (transfer code)
Be on the look out for any correspondence from us and/or your current domain registrar. Transfers can take 7-10 business days to be completed and they will appear in your account as soon as they are completed
Articles Detailing the Transfer Process
We have put together a series of articles to show you how to successfully complete the domain transfer process from most major domain registrars: Domain Transfers
60 Day Transfer Hold
Please note that it is required by all domain registrars to impose a 60 day transfer lock after any Registrant information is changed (except for an email address). This means that you will be unable to transfer a domain until the 60 days has passed. We recommend changing these details after any transfer has been completed to Evolve Web Hosting to avoid this.
